Juliana Gordon recently graduated from the Visual Culture: Costume Studies Master’s program at New York University. Her research interests lie in late nineteenth and early twentieth century American dress, particularly of the mid-Atlantic region. Her thesis focuses on the promotion of patriotic consumption of dress as exhibited through four renowned female dressmakers in Gilded Age New York. Juliana is working towards a career in museum collections, and has had experience in collections including the Fashion Columbia Study Collection at Columbia College, the Merchant’s House Museum, and the Chicago History Museum. She is currently assisting in a cataloguing project for the private fashion archive at New York Vintage.
