About: Kat
Kat was Worn Through's first intern last semester and now has shifted into being a full fledged contributor!
She brings many valuable areas of expertise to our team. As an independent scholar, Kat hopes to connect fashion and culture in an anthropological sense. Her research interests include Communist and post-Communist fashion cultures of Central and Eastern Europe, and studies connecting feminism, gender and dress. She recently presented a research exhibit at the 2010 Costume Society of America's National Symposium on Blue Jean Culture in the Czech Republic.
Kat is also very active in the Costume Society of America, especially promoting student involvement and understanding of the unique field of Fashion Studies.
