Due to various circumstances in my life outside of Worn Through, I have not been able to do my usual review post this week. I’ve been reading Ford Maddox Ford’s Parade’s End in my ‘spare time’ (do any of us know what that is, anymore?) and after several of the more descriptive passages about clothing, the fashions of the 1910s have been on my mind. So to tide you over until I return in two weeks with a review of the Getty’s Art of the Fold, here is a brief newsreel advertising Paul Poiret’s fashions from that era, complete with rare footage of him draping/styling the model.
Domestic Affairs will return with a review of Art of the Fold, on display at the Getty until January 10, 2016, on December 30!
