I’ve written about the San Jose Quilt and Textile Museum several times before. I’ve talked about their wonderful 35th anniversary show, their innovative exhibits, and their creative fundraising. They are an asset both to the city of San Jose, to California, and to textile museums in general. Unfortunately, they are yet another museum in financial duress through the decline in support from foundations and corporations, as well as the decline in memberships that all small museums are facing.
They are asking for donations to help them raise $80,000 by March 31, otherwise they may have to close in the near future.
You can read about their situation, and all they have done to try and avoid it, as well as how to help here.
