On November 10, 2012, the Western Region of CSA will be hosting an event at the de Saisett Museum, Santa Clara, CA. The program will include a presentation and tour of the special exhibition Mission Vestments from the Permanent Collection given by Elise Rousseau, CSA board member and textile conservator. Elise has a broad base of knowledge of the Museum’s artifacts as she was formerly the guest curator and helped to re-design and interpret the Pre-Contact, Mission Period and Early California Permanent Collection History Galleries. During her presentation Elise will discuss how these 17th and 18th century vestments used in Alta California’s Missions demonstrate a range of styles and purposes, as well as fabric and production origins.

The registration deadline is November 1. Registration forms and further information can be found here.
