Mining the History of Costume: Fantasy and Fact
Is your reality someone else’s fantasy? What is fantasy in costume? What research have you mined lately?

The 39th Costume Society of America Annual Symposium
May 29 – June 3, 2013 – Las Vegas, Nevada

Originating in USA: Postmarked by October 1, 2011
Originating outside USA: Postmarked by September 15, 2011
Electronic Submissions: October 1, 2011

 

Submissions related to or stimulated by “Mining the History of Costume: Fantasy and Fact” are invited. Also welcome are submissions of original research on any aspect of dress, fashion or costume and related disciplines, including but not limited to: art, design, history, conservation, ethnography, archeology, social sciences, and marketing. Scholars, educators and museum specialists, students, makers and marketers of wearable art, re-enactors and other clothing enthusiasts are encouraged to submit proposals. The aim is to create a program that includes a variety of approaches to costume scholarship.
