Peggy Moffitt and Vidal Sassoon

A couple weeks ago while attending The Total Look: The Creative Collaboration Between Rudi Gernreich, Peggy Moffitt, and William Claxton, on view through May 27th at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, a friend of mine was so fortunate as to come across Peggy Moffitt herself as an attendee of the exhibition.  I couldn’t help but share this wonderful photograph, that is striking in manifold ways.  I’m so impressed with how stunning Moffitt still is. When I first glimpsed the image I was convinced that I was looking at a mannequin!  Aside from her enduringly iconic style, I also couldn’t help but think about Vidal Sassoon and his recent passing when admiring her striking haircut.

On the opposite coast in New York, it’s been a frenzy of fashion these past few weeks.  There have been multiple conferences and exhibition openings slated to happen throughout the month, including Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, which officially opens to the public today, while the second half of FIT’s Fashion, A-Z Highlights From The Collection of The Museum at FIT, Part 2 opens on May 23rd.  As the academic semester wraps up next week, I am looking forward to seeing and sharing many summer exhibitions and lectures, and attending the Costume Society of America National Symposium in Atlanta at the end of the month.

Hoping that everyone is having an equally eventful and informative Spring!
