Curatorial Fellow

Position description:

Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont is recruiting a two-year Curatorial Fellow.  The position runs from January 2011 to January 2013.  The position’s responsibilities are as follows: Provide administrative and project support to curatorial department under the guidance of the Senior Curator.  Emphasis of the position is prints and paintings, with a broad range of folk and decorative arts reflective of the Museum’s Collection.  Respond to public inquiries for information on personal objects and scholarly inquiries on Museum collection.  Conduct tours of the Museum for donors, lenders and professionals from other institutions.  Participate in exhibit design and implementation.  Research, select and move objects.  Write and/or prepare text panels, labels and associated brochures/catalog entries for exhibit projects.  Other duties as assigned by the Senior Curator.

Qualifications: Masters degree in Art History required.
