RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching courses related to consumer textiles, garment pattern design and construction, technical and computer-aided fashion product design/production, merchandising and historic costume. Experience teaching, student advising and providing professional service. Candidate should have documented record of scholarly achievement and grant writing experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in apparel/textile, merchandising and design or closely related field from a regionally accredited university. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in historical costume collection research (and maintenance) and 2 to 3 years teaching experience in technical and computer-aided fashion product design/production/merchandising and relevant industry or international experience.

(2. Lecturer Position, Apparel Design, Baylor University

QUALIFICATIONS: M.S. or M.A. required in apparel design and merchandising or closely related field. Terminal degree (Ph. D. or M.F. A.) preferred. At least one degree in a Family and Consumer Sciences program area is required. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college or university level; teaching experiences in apparel design and construction courses including strong skills in pattern design, draping, illustration; demonstrate a high level of creativity and the ability to develop this skill in others; collaborative working and research style with students and faculty.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach in the area of fashion design and common FCS course requirements. Courses could include: Principles of art and design, fashion illustration, apparel production including tailoring and couture techniques, and apparel design. Advise students and maintain contacts with industry. Produce creative and/or scholarly work; contribute to curriculum development, serve on departmental and college committees; be active in relevant professional activities; and provide service to the university and profession. Successful candidate should have an established scholarly agenda or the potential to establish one.

The International Academy of Design and Technology located in Chicago, IL has an immediate opening for three Adjunct Fashion Design Instructors to instruct: Textile Design, Computer Graphics for Fashion Design and Fashion Manufacturing and Appraisal. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach courses as assigned by Program Chair up to the maximum number of contact hours allowed by current accreditation; Provide a qualified, prepared substitute who must be approved by your Program Chair, prior to when a class must be missed; Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress; Provide assistance for the planning, development and maintenance of program curriculum; Work with the Program Chair to resolve student concerns; Provide annual documentation of continuing professional growth; Attend scheduled program meetings, Academy in-service workshops and college-wide faculty meetings; Manage special projects as formally assigned by the Program Chair or Dean or VP of Academics (including, but not limited to, the organization and posting of student work for display; assistance with accreditation preparation.) Adhere to and publicly support Academy policies and procedures; Attend annual graduation ceremony.

QUALIFICATIONS: Documented expertise in academic subject area (Textile Design, Computer Graphics for Fashion Design, Fashion Manufacturing) and expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills; Minimum of 2 years of industry experience required; Prior post-secondary teaching experience as a student-centered, retention-focused educator preferred; Computer Graphics for Fashion Design Course Requires: Expertise in SnapFashun, Adobe Illustrator, Geber Accumark, Photoshop; Masters degree required
