Position Requirements:

1. Master’s degree in Fashion Merchandising/Marketing, Management, or related field.
2. 3 – 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in industry and /or teaching.
3. Strong interpersonal skills.
4. Genuine interest in helping students.
5. Ability to act effectively as the member of a team.
6. Proficient in management, merchandising practices, and selected software’s used in the industry.
7. Active involvement in professional organizations.

Fashion & Retail Management Adjunct Instructor

The Art Institute of Austin is searching for adjunct instructors to teach courses in the Fashion & Retail Management program. Candidates must have the ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses; ability to deliver materials in a networked environment; and be conversant in contemporary design theory, education, and practice. Instructors at The Art Institute are expected to enable student exit competencies, deliver learner-centered instruction, encourages student success, manage the classroom environment and relate industry experience to learning

Position Specifications:
• Masters Degree in Business with Marketing or Advertising emphasis
• Retail experience and or teaching experience preferred
• Instruction of evening or weekend classes may be required
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills including group dynamics, human relations and sensitivity
• Strong problem-resolution skills
• Excellent organizational, administrative and communication skills
• An understanding of student development issues in post-secondary education
• High professional standards and an attitude of customer service.
