Textile Center Artwear Symposium

June 5-6, 2010

About the Symposium:
The Textile Center will be hosting an Artwear Symposium in June 2010. Jacquelyn Rice will be our keynote speaker. Rice, along with Carolyn Kallenborn, Sandra Ericson and Laurie Schafer, will be presenting seminars as well as two and three day hands-on workshops on a variety of Artwear topics during the pre and post conference days.

Seminar Sessions:
Concurrent seminar sessions will be held at the Textile Center during the days Saturday June 5 and Sunday June 6. Seminar sessions will be presented in a variety of formats, and include sessions relating to wearable art and topics of interest to fiber artists in general. Each seminar session will be 1-2 hours in length. Up to 6 seminars will be presented in both the morning and afternoon sessions with a break for lunch. There will be a total of 12-18 seminars selected.

Seminar Format:
Slide/Power Point Lecture 1 hour
Round Table Discussion Led by individual or a panel. 1 hr.
Demonstration 2 hr.

Space and Equipment:
Classrooms used for presentations can hold a maximum of 50 students. Slide projectors, overhead projector, LCD projector and whiteboards are available for use. If possible, demonstrations will be video monitored and projected on a large screen above the instructor.

Vintage Inspirations for Artwear

Compensation:
Presenters who are selected to participate in the Artwear Symposium at the Textile Center will receive a $100 honorarium and free admission to the Saturday and Sunday sessions of the Symposium. Presenters are responsible for transportation and lodging.
