Obama Nomination Victory Rally

img_2622.JPG

As residents of MPLS/St. Paul we were thrilled to have Obama come here tonight to claim his victory as the Democratic candidate! The rally was huge and we were so excited that we were able to not only get in, but also get great seats. The energy was fabulous and the diversity of the crowd was inspiring as I tend to think of the Twin Cities as highly segmented.

I wanted to somehow bring a Worn Through dress and culture angle in, and so I brought my camera and took a ton of shots of how everyone was dressed, the witty Obama t-shirts and homemade pins, and Michelle Obama’s rockin’ purple number (which we suspect had to do with the Vikings colors). Some of the images here aren’t normal WT material, as you cannot make out exactly what everyone is wearing, but I thought I’d share my enthusiasm with you, and you could try to see the variation in dress. (Note-You can see me on the Jumbo-Tron at one point wearing my bright pink Marc Jacobs t-shirt).

Also, the guy in the Barack and Roll t-shirt said his friend Adrianne Ngam (sp?) made it herself, the girl in the sheep and rock shirt said she got it on Cafe Press, and the DIY pin was apparently from a Twin Cities art festival. At the end are the Shepard Fairey illustrated pins we bought which totally rock.
