I was doing some research for the clothing swaps that I have been running for seven years in SE Michigan. I enjoyed reading about the history of swaps. I did not know about any of this when I started the clothing swaps in my area. We started with children’s clothes and then expanded to women’s and men’s clothing.

A great post. I love the idea of clothes being recycled with the Rag and Bone man. I suppose the modern day equivalent is the colections of sacks of clothes by charities.
